GUATEMALA 2026

We visited several students of El Mesías Christian School, which has not only provided encouragement to the students themselves but has also caused growth in all members of the team.
As a group, we have felt called to spend more time meditating in God’s word and in prayer. When we prayed with members of the Santa Lucia community, we felt the Holy Spirit at work and also felt especially called to share our renewed spiritual energy with the Mid Vermont community.
VBS has also been a huge blessing. Getting to share a challenging yet encouraging message with students from kindergarten to ninth grade is truly an indescribable feeling. It was also special for many members of our team to see familiar, friendly, and joyful faces.
Lastly, we have gotten to bless the construction of the new school building by working on rebar supports with the dedicated and Godly laborers who work at the site year-round.
Thank you for your prayers, support, and encouragement as we serve the Lord in a beautiful and different culture.
Or feel free to scroll through and view the pictures and videos from our missions trip at your own pace below:
One of the members of our G-Team, Laura created a special video message to share
Thanks to generous donations at our missions drive, we were able to bless the community of Santa Lucia with food we brought with us

"El Mesias! El Mesias! El Mesias!"
The views from the top of El Mirador were incredible!

The open kitchen allowed us to see our meal being prepared

Our G-Team presented a play of Joseph and his brothers
Jacob gives his favorite son Joseph a coat of many colors
Joseph's brothers take his coat and throw him down into a well
Joseph is sold into slavery
Joseph's brothers bring the torn coat to their father, Jacob
Joseph's dream is realized when his brothers come to Egypt and bow down before him

We also taught the students in VBS a new song and a lesson about trusting the Lord from Proverbs 3:5-6

In order to get to the recess field, the students have to cross through a construction zone and climb up a hillside.
Once they get to the field, they have so much fun!

We teach the "El Mesias" students a classic MVCS game
Sharks and Minnows
We all climb back down the hill before heading across town to the other school buildings

Some of the "El Mesias" boys play in the street outside the classroom after one of our assemblies

We traveled to the other end of town to hold a large assembly with La Iglesia Morada de Dios in which we organized a clothing give-away

Before our missions trip to Guatemala, we began with a used donation drive for office supplies and clothing:
USED DONATION DRIVE -- MVCS Guatemala Mission Trip
PLEASE DO NOT BUY items to donate, we prefer financial contributions. If you have any of these items around your house you are looking to put towards a good cause, please consider donating them to El Mesías Christian School in Guatemala! We ask that items be in good working condition.
Purpose: Import taxes are high in Guatemala, these items will go towards stocking the school we are helping to construct. The clothes will be handed out at a community outreach event.
