Spurred on by his Bachelors in Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems from UNH, Mr. Barnes hopes to revitalize his family’s farm into a vibrant and diverse, multi-enterprise farm that feeds people highly nutritious and real food, teaches others about the food system, and celebrates the God-given purpose and beauty of all living things. Mr. Barnes is a big fan of the Celtics and basketball in general, and he still likes to talk about that old three-point contest he won in high school. He is an avid reader, and absolutely loves half and half – he will drink it straight, no need for the coffee.
Miss Blessing graduated from Messiah College with a BS in Elementary Education and University of South Carolina with a Masters in Elementary Curriculum. A favorite Bible verse of hers is Philippians 4:8 because she wants to grow to think more like Christ each day. It reads “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.” She loves to sing with her family, read, swim at sunrise at her local lake, smell the balsam at the top of Cannon Mountain, and take trips to the coast of Maine in the winter. One of Miss Blessing’s most life impacting choices was spending seven summers serving on a mission team to Nova Scotia, Canada, leading Bible clubs and weeks of camp plus mentoring team members in teaching children. She is wild about teaching, and having the privilege to shepherd young hearts at MVCS is her dream come true.
