MVCS Student Handbook & Calendar
It is a pleasure to introduce you to the Parent-Student Handbook. It is our hope that this year will be a great year of academic growth and development for all of our students. Even though we have not made major changes in our school policies, it is still very important that you know and understand the policies and procedures of our school. By doing so, you will help us ensure a safe and successful school year.
The mission of the school is to glorify God by preparing students for college and for life through a program of academic excellence established in Biblical truth.
Mid Vermont Christian School seeks to develop spiritual, ethical, and intellectual leadership qualities in each child. The most effective way these qualities will be fostered is through the godly example of teachers and parents. The children are taught how to think, as well as how to make a living, through developing the necessary skills and abilities. The school is independent (not affiliated with any one church). The curriculum combines the best features of a traditional education with instruction in more modern subjects such as computer science. The school’s program begins with Preschool (3-4 year olds) and includes kindergarten, elementary, middle school, and high school grades. Class size is generally 18 students or less. The Headmaster directs the daily operations of the school. A board of directors governs the school. Caring Christian teachers, striving for excellence, serve as role models instructing students in the art of thinking about the world from a Biblical perspective. These dedicated faculty members address the students’ needs in the academic, social, physical, and spiritual areas. A Biblical principle is found in Luke 6:40: “Everyone when he is fully taught will be like his teacher.” It is for this reason the school strives for the most qualified teachers.
